After extensive tasting, here are four of our current obsessions in the Vancouver smoothie scene:
1. The Juice Truck: Watermelon Smoothie
The Watermelon Smoothie is The Juice Truck's seasonal summer special. Packed with watermelon, strawberries, and lemon for a refreshing taste, it's our go-to after a long day at the pool or beach. Like summer, its days are limited, so grab it at one of their 4 retail locations before it's gone.
Perfect for: Beating the heat and soaking up the final days of summer.
2. TurF: Glow Smoothie
It was hard for us to choose just one favourite from TurF. But thanks to the freshness of the berries at the peak of blueberry season in BC, this one took the cake. Keep the post-workout "glow" going all day long with this delicious recipe! Crafted with blueberries, avocado, maca, lucuma, cinnamon, goji, nuts, almond butter, and a little bit of maple syrup for sweetness.
Perfect for: Sipping on during your cooldown after one of TurF's signature studio workouts.
3. Body Energy Club: Green Goddess Smoothie
We had to put a green smoothie on the list, and Body Energy's Green Goddess was a natural choice. Packed with green goodness from kale to spinach and avocado and balanced with sweet and nutty flavours like banana, almond butter, chia seeds, cacao nibs, and berries, this smoothie fills you up and ensures you get the nourishment you need.
Bonus: Add extras like protein powder or power fuels for everything from recovery to mood and immunity boosts.
Perfect for: Those days when you run out of the house without breakfast and need to grab something on the go.
4. Kokomo: Coffee Crisp Smoothie
A love letter to all our chocolate lovers out there. Often referred to by our customers as a "Coffee Crisp™ bar in a cup," this smoothie lives up to its name. Made with espresso, banana, almond butter, cacao, hemp hearts, dates, cinnamon and almond milk, the slight buzz from the espresso and sugar boost from the chocolate will help you push through that mid-afternoon slump.
Perfect for: Those impossible-to-ignore sweet cravings that hit you right before dinner, or as dessert following one of our plant-based bowls.
